The Complete Guide to Leasing a Used Land Rover

By Alex · Guide reviewed . Live stock examples update separately.

Can you lease a used Land Rover?

Yes. Second Life Leasing offers pre-leased Land Rover cars for personal and business leasing in the UK, with full maintenance and premium replacement tyres included. Browse our current Land Rover stock, including Range Rover models when available.

You choose a specific car with its own photographs, specification and recorded mileage. Pay an initial rental followed by monthly rentals, then return the car at the agreed end. Applications are subject to approval.

Where does my Land Rover come from?

Second Life Leasing’s Land Rover cars come directly from Lex Autolease, part of Lloyds Banking Group, after their first lease. Lex continues to own the car and offers it for another lease. We help you choose and arrange it; your hire agreement is with Lex Autolease.

A first lease with a known history

Lex bought the car from new and managed its first lease, with agreed mileage, servicing and return standards. That gives your next Land Rover a known leasing history. The individual listing and vehicle information tell you about the particular car you are considering.

Safety checks and preparation

Each car goes through safety checks and preparation for its next driver. It is still a used car, and we will highlight known minor cosmetic imperfections before you decide, so you can picture what will arrive.

What are the current Land Rover lease prices?

The car you choose, contract term, annual mileage and payment profile all affect the rental. Compare the initial payment as well as the monthly figure when deciding what fits your budget.

Explore our latest pre-leased Land Rover stock below, with live lease prices. Open a listing for the car’s photographs, specification and available lease options.

Which Land Rover model and version should you choose?

Discovery Sport P300e: check the five-seat layout

The Discovery Sport P300e is worth considering if you want an upright family SUV with plug-in hybrid power. It combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with electric drive, as described in JLR’s powertrain introduction. Regular charging lets you make use of its electric capability for local trips, with petrol available for longer journeys.

There is an important seating distinction: the P300e is a five-seat car. The manufacturer’s technical specification confirms this. Do not assume that a Discovery Sport description mentioning five-plus-two seats applies to the plug-in hybrid. Try the rear bench and boot with the people and luggage you carry most often.

Range Rover Evoque P300e: the compact alternative

The Evoque P300e offers the same broad petrol-and-rechargeable-electric approach in a different body. Compare it with the Discovery Sport if you prefer its more compact-looking shape and driving position. Rear access, the shape of the boot opening and visibility when manoeuvring are useful things to compare in person.

The original P300e introduction covers both models, but that shared powertrain idea does not make their cabins interchangeable. Check the equipment on the particular Evoque instead of assuming that a similar specification name on a Discovery Sport includes the same features.

Earlier Range Rover Sport P400e: a different generation

Look at the Range Rover Sport if you want a larger SUV. The earlier P400e combines a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with electric power. Its manufacturer introduction describes the original plug-in hybrid system and twin-screen Touch Pro Duo cabin.

This is a separate generation from the later P440e and P460e cars. Compare its own battery, charging hardware, cabin controls and luggage arrangement, rather than applying a later Sport’s figures to it. Around the generation change, the model and powertrain details are more informative than the registration year alone.

Newer Range Rover Sport: P440e, P510e and later updates

The third-generation Sport introduced in 2022 brought a new body and cabin, with P440e and P510e plug-in hybrids using a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine. This is the larger-generation change to understand before comparing SE, Dynamic SE and Autobiography equipment.

Later P460e and P550e versions brought a revised electric motor, described in JLR’s 2024-model update. Read each version’s specification directly. A higher number identifies a different powertrain output; it does not tell you every fitted option or guarantee the same electric capability in everyday driving.

Choose the plug-in hybrid around a usable routine

For these plug-in hybrids, think about where you will charge and how often the car can be connected. Compare the full vehicle width with your parking space and the luggage area with the rear seats in use. If towing is part of your plans, confirm the exact derivative’s towing approval and fitted equipment before deciding.

Choose the equipment you will use

For a Land Rover or Range Rover Sport, prioritise the seat adjustment, parking cameras and visibility that make a large SUV easier to live with. Check any towbar, panoramic roof, assistance package and wheel choice against the actual vehicle; trim names and attractive launch photographs are not a fitted-options list.

Equipment and charging specifications can change during production. Confirm the manufacturer’s specification, fitted options, cables and any connected-service subscriptions for the actual car before ordering; registration year and trim name alone do not tell the whole story.

What comes with my Land Rover lease?

Second Life Leasing’s full maintenance package brings the routine upkeep into your lease, helping you plan for more than the rental alone.

Servicing, maintenance and premium replacement tyres

Servicing, maintenance, replacement tyres and MOT when required are included. Replacement tyres are premium brands, with mobile fitting where possible. Collection and return for servicing and maintenance are included, subject to limitations.

Breakdown cover and road fund tax

Breakdown cover includes a replacement vehicle for up to 48 hours if needed, plus cover for driving abroad. Check the overseas arrangements with Lex before travelling. Road fund tax is included for the duration of your lease.

Online support

The Lex Vehicle Leasing app gives you a way to book servicing, request support and find your contract documents. Use the lease company’s support route for your maintained agreement.

What do I pay for separately?

Allow for insurance and fuel or charging. Your quote and agreement also explain applicable fees and contract charges, including excess mileage and damage charges. Included maintenance helps with budgeting without making every motoring cost fixed.

What happens if my Land Rover develops a fault?

Contact Lex Autolease through its support process. Under Second Life Leasing’s full maintenance offering, Lex arranges covered repairs in line with your agreement, so you have a clear route to getting help.

Does the manufacturer’s warranty matter?

Where a manufacturer’s warranty applies, Lex handles the claim behind the scenes. Your repair support follows the maintained lease agreement; you do not need to work out the remaining manufacturer’s warranty before reporting a problem.

Can I choose the term and mileage?

Yes. Each car’s listing shows its available contract terms, annual mileage allowances and payment profiles. Choose mileage around your normal year, including commuting, business journeys and holidays.

The payment profile determines how much you pay initially and in subsequent rentals. Choose a term you are comfortable committing to, and review the agreement’s provisions and charges for changing or ending it early.

Personal or business leasing?

You can apply for Personal Contract Hire in your own name or Business Contract Hire for your business. The live examples in this guide are personal rentals including VAT, even if you are browsing in Business mode. Select Business to explore business prices on the stock pages, or ask us for the appropriate quote.

Why choose a pre-leased Land Rover?

More of the car you want within your budget

A maintained Land Rover lease lets you choose the size, seating and plug-in hybrid generation around your family’s daily journeys. A pre-leased Land Rover has already been through its initial depreciation. Leasing it at its used value can mean a lower rental than leasing new, with the individual quote showing what that means for your chosen car. You can put the rental alongside your other regular costs and decide whether the whole package works for you.

A scheduled return without finding a buyer

At the agreed end, return the Land Rover subject to the mileage and condition terms. Lex owns and resells it and takes the resale-value risk. You can choose your next car without arranging a private sale or negotiating a part-exchange.

How do I arrange my Land Rover lease?

  1. Tell us which Land Rover interests you. We will help you choose from the available cars and confirm the details that matter to you.
  2. Review your quote. We will place a temporary reservation while you look through the figures.
  3. Complete the paperwork online. We will guide you through the credit application and your agreement with Lex Autolease.
  4. Take delivery. Once your application is approved and the car is ready, we will arrange included mainland UK delivery to your door.
