The Complete Guide to Leasing a Used Lexus

By Alex · Guide reviewed . Live stock examples update separately.

Can you lease a used Lexus?

Yes. Second Life Leasing offers pre-leased Lexus cars for personal and business leasing in the UK, with full maintenance and premium replacement tyres included. Explore our current Lexus listings to see which cars and specifications are available.

You choose a specific car with its own photographs, specification and recorded mileage. Pay an initial rental followed by monthly rentals, then return the car at the agreed end. Applications are subject to approval.

Where does my Lexus come from?

Second Life Leasing’s Lexus cars come directly from Lex Autolease, part of Lloyds Banking Group, after their first lease. Lex continues to own the car and offers it for another lease. We help you choose and arrange it; your hire agreement is with Lex Autolease.

A first lease with a known history

Lex bought the car from new and managed its first lease, with agreed mileage, servicing and return standards. That gives your next Lexus a known leasing history. The individual listing and vehicle information tell you about the particular car you are considering.

Safety checks and preparation

Each car goes through safety checks and preparation for its next driver. It is still a used car, and we will highlight known minor cosmetic imperfections before you decide, so you can picture what will arrive.

What are the current Lexus lease prices?

The car you choose, contract term, annual mileage and payment profile all affect the rental. Compare the initial payment as well as the monthly figure when deciding what fits your budget.

There are currently no live Lexus personal lease examples. Check all current Lexus stock or return here when matching cars are available.

Which Lexus model and version should you choose?

UX 300e: the compact electric Lexus

The UX 300e is the starting point if you want a compact crossover for daily journeys and easier parking. Its electric motor drives the front wheels. It is a different proposition from a UX 250h or 300h hybrid: the 300e needs plugging in and has no petrol engine to continue the journey when its battery runs low.

There are two important battery generations. Lexus replaced the original 54.3kWh battery with a 72.8kWh pack as part of its UX update. For a regular longer journey, establish which battery the individual car has before comparing its rental. A larger pack gives you a different starting point for journey planning, but battery capacity is not a promise of miles in winter or at motorway speed.

UX charging: look for the right connection

The UX 300e uses a Type 2 connection for AC charging and CHAdeMO for rapid DC charging. Lexus’s UK technical specification identifies those connections. If you plan to charge while travelling, check for a working CHAdeMO connector at the stops you would actually use. A charging site being described as rapid does not establish that it has the connector your car needs.

That matters less to someone whose normal routine is charging at home than to a driver relying on frequent motorway stops. Work through your own routes before choosing between an appealing UX quote and a larger alternative.

RZ 300e: more room in an electric SUV

The RZ 300e gives you a larger SUV to compare with the UX. It uses front-wheel drive; the contemporary RZ 450e has all-wheel drive. Lexus’s 2024 RZ range announcement explains that distinction. The shared RZ name does not make a 300e a lower-powered version of an otherwise identical four-wheel-drive car.

Choose the larger body because you will use its passenger and luggage room. If you travel with adults in the back, take time over their seating position and access. If your regular load is a pushchair, luggage or a dog crate, compare its shape with the loading opening and usable floor space. A bigger SUV also deserves a check against your driveway and usual parking bays.

Premium Plus and Takumi: choose for everyday use

Lexus equipment packs can make two similar-looking cars quite different places to spend time. Premium Plus and Takumi are useful search labels, but identify the features that justify the rental for you: seat adjustment, parking assistance, audio and the multimedia interface. Lexus revised the UX’s multimedia system during its life, so an older car’s cabin should be assessed on its own controls rather than a current showroom demonstration.

Choose the equipment you will use

For a UX, prioritise the battery generation and your rapid-charging routes before paying more for a pack. For an RZ, put rear-seat space and the larger footprint alongside the comfort equipment. A useful parking camera or seat adjustment can matter more every day than a badge on the tailgate.

Equipment and charging specifications can change during production. Confirm the manufacturer’s specification, fitted options, cables and any connected-service subscriptions for the actual car before ordering; registration year and trim name alone do not tell the whole story.

What comes with my Lexus lease?

Second Life Leasing’s full maintenance package brings the routine upkeep into your lease, helping you plan for more than the rental alone.

Servicing, maintenance and premium replacement tyres

Servicing, maintenance, replacement tyres and MOT when required are included. Replacement tyres are premium brands, with mobile fitting where possible. Collection and return for servicing and maintenance are included, subject to limitations.

Breakdown cover and road fund tax

Breakdown cover includes a replacement vehicle for up to 48 hours if needed, plus cover for driving abroad. Check the overseas arrangements with Lex before travelling. Road fund tax is included for the duration of your lease.

Online support

The Lex Vehicle Leasing app gives you a way to book servicing, request support and find your contract documents. Use the lease company’s support route for your maintained agreement.

What do I pay for separately?

Allow for insurance and fuel or charging. Your quote and agreement also explain applicable fees and contract charges, including excess mileage and damage charges. Included maintenance helps with budgeting without making every motoring cost fixed.

What happens if my Lexus develops a fault?

Contact Lex Autolease through its support process. Under Second Life Leasing’s full maintenance offering, Lex arranges covered repairs in line with your agreement, so you have a clear route to getting help.

Does the manufacturer’s warranty matter?

Where a manufacturer’s warranty applies, Lex handles the claim behind the scenes. Your repair support follows the maintained lease agreement; you do not need to work out the remaining manufacturer’s warranty before reporting a problem.

What about an electric Lexus’s battery?

Our pre-leased battery-electric Lexus cars come with a guaranteed minimum battery condition of 85% at delivery. That is a delivery baseline, rather than a guarantee throughout the lease or a promise of a particular driving range.

Can I choose the term and mileage?

Yes. Each car’s listing shows its available contract terms, annual mileage allowances and payment profiles. Choose mileage around your normal year, including commuting, business journeys and holidays.

The payment profile determines how much you pay initially and in subsequent rentals. Choose a term you are comfortable committing to, and review the agreement’s provisions and charges for changing or ending it early.

Personal or business leasing?

You can apply for Personal Contract Hire in your own name or Business Contract Hire for your business. The live examples in this guide are personal rentals including VAT, even if you are browsing in Business mode. Select Business to explore business prices on the stock pages, or ask us for the appropriate quote.

Why choose a pre-leased Lexus?

More of the car you want within your budget

The useful Lexus comparison is a compact UX for everyday journeys against the extra space of an RZ, with the charging setup considered alongside the rental. A pre-leased Lexus has already been through its initial depreciation. Leasing it at its used value can mean a lower rental than leasing new, with the individual quote showing what that means for your chosen car. You can put the rental alongside your other regular costs and decide whether the whole package works for you.

Giving an electric Lexus another lease of life

Choosing a pre-leased battery-electric Lexus keeps an existing car and its battery in use. Battery-electric Lexus cars produce no tailpipe emissions while driving. Manufacturing and charging electricity still contribute to their overall footprint.

UK government guidance explains that a typical electric car has lower lifetime greenhouse-gas emissions than an equivalent petrol car, including battery production and disposal. That is general EV evidence, rather than a measured saving for an individual used Lexus.

A scheduled return without finding a buyer

At the agreed end, return the Lexus subject to the mileage and condition terms. Lex owns and resells it and takes the resale-value risk. You can choose your next car without arranging a private sale or negotiating a part-exchange.

How do I arrange my Lexus lease?

  1. Tell us which Lexus interests you. We will help you choose from the available cars and confirm the details that matter to you.
  2. Review your quote. We will place a temporary reservation while you look through the figures.
  3. Complete the paperwork online. We will guide you through the credit application and your agreement with Lex Autolease.
  4. Take delivery. Once your application is approved and the car is ready, we will arrange included mainland UK delivery to your door.
