The Complete Guide to Leasing a Used Nissan

Grey Nissan Ariya electric crossover in a pale grey studio, viewed from the front three-quarter angle

By Alex · Guide reviewed . Live stock examples update separately.

Can you lease a used Nissan?

Yes. Second Life Leasing offers pre-leased Nissan cars for personal and business leasing in the UK, with full maintenance and premium replacement tyres included. Browse our current Nissan stock for individual LEAF and Ariya listings when available.

You choose a specific car with its own photographs, specification and recorded mileage. Pay an initial rental followed by monthly rentals, then return the car at the agreed end. Applications are subject to approval.

Where does my Nissan come from?

Second Life Leasing’s Nissan cars come directly from Lex Autolease, part of Lloyds Banking Group, after their first lease. Lex continues to own the car and offers it for another lease. We help you choose and arrange it; your hire agreement is with Lex Autolease.

A first lease with a known history

Lex bought the car from new and managed its first lease, with agreed mileage, servicing and return standards. That gives your next Nissan a known leasing history. The individual listing and vehicle information tell you about the particular car you are considering.

Safety checks and preparation

Each car goes through safety checks and preparation for its next driver. It is still a used car, and we will highlight known minor cosmetic imperfections before you decide, so you can picture what will arrive.

What are the current Nissan lease prices?

The car you choose, contract term, annual mileage and payment profile all affect the rental. Compare the initial payment as well as the monthly figure when deciding what fits your budget.

Explore our latest pre-leased Nissan stock below, with live lease prices. Open a listing for the car’s photographs, specification and available lease options.

Which Nissan model and version should you choose?

LEAF: a familiar hatchback for everyday journeys

The 2022 LEAF is the straightforward hatchback to compare if your daily mileage is predictable and you have a convenient place to charge. Nissan’s 2022 update belongs to this generation; it should not be confused with a later new LEAF sharing the name.

For an N-Connecta example, compare rear-seat access and the hatch opening with your usual passengers and luggage. A car that covers the normal working week comfortably can be a sensible choice without being the largest electric Nissan. Establish the exact battery specification and assess the longer trips you make regularly, rather than choosing from a model name alone.

LEAF rapid charging: plan around CHAdeMO

The LEAF of this period uses CHAdeMO for rapid charging. Its 2022 owner’s manual identifies the standard. Check that the charging stops on your routes offer the right connector and can be used when you need them. A site with CCS rapid chargers does not, by that fact alone, provide a direct connection for this LEAF.

If most charging happens overnight at home, that may be a manageable part of your routine. If frequent long-distance journeys depend on public charging, work through the stops before deciding that the LEAF’s rental is the best fit.

Ariya: more crossover space, with 63kWh or 87kWh

The Ariya offers a larger crossover to compare with the LEAF. Its UK launch range included 63kWh and 87kWh batteries, in different powertrain combinations, as Nissan’s 2022 UK introduction explains. Engage, Advance and Evolve are equipment grades; they do not replace the need to read the battery and drive designation.

The larger pack is worth considering if longer journeys are a regular part of your week. For mainly local driving, compare the smaller-battery quote with how often you would need to charge. Look at rear-seat comfort, luggage space and the car’s footprint as well as the headline battery figure.

Ariya e-4ORCE and charging equipment

e-4ORCE identifies Ariya’s twin-motor all-wheel-drive system. Compare it with the two-wheel-drive car as a separate powertrain choice. A higher equipment grade does not necessarily mean four-wheel drive.

Ariya uses CCS for rapid charging, unlike the LEAF above. The 2023 owner’s manual explains that connection. Some versions have a 22kW AC onboard charger, but benefiting from that rating requires an appropriate three-phase supply or charging post; it does not turn a typical single-phase home installation into a 22kW charger. Confirm the exact fitted charger and the supply you will use.

Choose the equipment you will use

Choose Engage, Advance or Evolve by the features you value, then confirm any ProPILOT, comfort, Bose or roof pack individually. Driver assistance still needs the driver’s attention. If moving between a LEAF and Ariya, take time to understand their controls and regenerative-braking settings rather than assuming the two cars behave identically.

Equipment and charging specifications can change during production. Confirm the manufacturer’s specification, fitted options, cables and any connected-service subscriptions for the actual car before ordering; registration year and trim name alone do not tell the whole story.

What comes with my Nissan lease?

Second Life Leasing’s full maintenance package brings the routine upkeep into your lease, helping you plan for more than the rental alone.

Servicing, maintenance and premium replacement tyres

Servicing, maintenance, replacement tyres and MOT when required are included. Replacement tyres are premium brands, with mobile fitting where possible. Collection and return for servicing and maintenance are included, subject to limitations.

Breakdown cover and road fund tax

Breakdown cover includes a replacement vehicle for up to 48 hours if needed, plus cover for driving abroad. Check the overseas arrangements with Lex before travelling. Road fund tax is included for the duration of your lease.

Online support

The Lex Vehicle Leasing app gives you a way to book servicing, request support and find your contract documents. Use the lease company’s support route for your maintained agreement.

What do I pay for separately?

Allow for insurance and fuel or charging. Your quote and agreement also explain applicable fees and contract charges, including excess mileage and damage charges. Included maintenance helps with budgeting without making every motoring cost fixed.

What happens if my Nissan develops a fault?

Contact Lex Autolease through its support process. Under Second Life Leasing’s full maintenance offering, Lex arranges covered repairs in line with your agreement, so you have a clear route to getting help.

Does the manufacturer’s warranty matter?

Where a manufacturer’s warranty applies, Lex handles the claim behind the scenes. Your repair support follows the maintained lease agreement; you do not need to work out the remaining manufacturer’s warranty before reporting a problem.

What about an electric Nissan’s battery?

Our pre-leased battery-electric Nissan cars come with a guaranteed minimum battery condition of 85% at delivery. That is a delivery baseline, rather than a guarantee throughout the lease or a promise of a particular driving range.

Can I choose the term and mileage?

Yes. Each car’s listing shows its available contract terms, annual mileage allowances and payment profiles. Choose mileage around your normal year, including commuting, business journeys and holidays.

The payment profile determines how much you pay initially and in subsequent rentals. Choose a term you are comfortable committing to, and review the agreement’s provisions and charges for changing or ending it early.

Personal or business leasing?

You can apply for Personal Contract Hire in your own name or Business Contract Hire for your business. The live examples in this guide are personal rentals including VAT, even if you are browsing in Business mode. Select Business to explore business prices on the stock pages, or ask us for the appropriate quote.

Why choose a pre-leased Nissan?

More of the car you want within your budget

Nissan gives you a useful choice between the LEAF hatchback and larger Ariya, with battery size and charging connections often more important than trim alone. A pre-leased Nissan has already been through its initial depreciation. Leasing it at its used value can mean a lower rental than leasing new, with the individual quote showing what that means for your chosen car. You can put the rental alongside your other regular costs and decide whether the whole package works for you.

Giving an electric Nissan another lease of life

Choosing a pre-leased battery-electric Nissan keeps an existing car and its battery in use. Battery-electric Nissan cars produce no tailpipe emissions while driving. Manufacturing and charging electricity still contribute to their overall footprint.

UK government guidance explains that a typical electric car has lower lifetime greenhouse-gas emissions than an equivalent petrol car, including battery production and disposal. That is general EV evidence, rather than a measured saving for an individual used Nissan.

A scheduled return without finding a buyer

At the agreed end, return the Nissan subject to the mileage and condition terms. Lex owns and resells it and takes the resale-value risk. You can choose your next car without arranging a private sale or negotiating a part-exchange.

How do I arrange my Nissan lease?

  1. Tell us which Nissan interests you. We will help you choose from the available cars and confirm the details that matter to you.
  2. Review your quote. We will place a temporary reservation while you look through the figures.
  3. Complete the paperwork online. We will guide you through the credit application and your agreement with Lex Autolease.
  4. Take delivery. Once your application is approved and the car is ready, we will arrange included mainland UK delivery to your door.
