Can you lease a used Polestar?
Yes. Second Life Leasing offers pre-leased Polestar cars for personal and business leasing in the UK, with full maintenance and premium replacement tyres included. Explore our current Polestar listings for individual cars, photographs and lease options.
You choose a specific car with its own photographs, specification and recorded mileage. Pay an initial rental followed by monthly rentals, then return the car at the agreed end. Applications are subject to approval.
Where does my Polestar come from?
Second Life Leasing’s Polestar cars come directly from Lex Autolease, part of Lloyds Banking Group, after their first lease. Lex continues to own the car and offers it for another lease. We help you choose and arrange it; your hire agreement is with Lex Autolease.
A first lease with a known history
Lex bought the car from new and managed its first lease, with agreed mileage, servicing and return standards. That gives your next Polestar a known leasing history. The individual listing and vehicle information tell you about the particular car you are considering.
Safety checks and preparation
Each car goes through safety checks and preparation for its next driver. It is still a used car, and we will highlight known minor cosmetic imperfections before you decide, so you can picture what will arrive.

Which Polestar model and version should you choose?
Polestar 2: the electric fastback
The Polestar 2 is the one to compare if you prefer a lower car to an SUV but still want a large hatchback opening. Standard Range and Long Range describe battery versions, while Single Motor and Dual Motor identify a different powertrain choice. Read the full description before deciding whether a higher quote is paying for battery capacity, a second motor or equipment.
For everyday use, compare rear-seat access, the centre seating position and the load area with the people and bags you normally carry. The fastback shape can be a useful alternative to an SUV without requiring you to choose a conventional saloon boot opening.
Polestar 2 motor generations: the badge is not the whole story
Earlier Single Motor cars drive the front wheels; the model-year 2024 update introduced rear-wheel drive for Single Motor versions, alongside revised motors and batteries. Polestar’s model history records the change. This is a meaningful engineering difference, even when two cars both say Long Range Single Motor.
Dual Motor cars add all-wheel drive, but their powertrain also changed over time. Compare within the actual model year and battery specification. Registration year can help narrow the search, but cars registered around an update need their build specification checked.
Pilot, Plus and Performance: decide what earns the rental
Pilot and Plus packs add different kinds of equipment; Performance is a separate choice again. The 2022 UK brochure shows the package structure for earlier cars. Do not use today’s pack list as proof of an older car’s features.
If comfort is your priority, compare the seats, heating and audio you will actually use. If a Performance Pack appeals, compare its wheels and suspension, and confirm whether a performance software upgrade is fitted. A gold detail or a familiar pack name is a useful starting point for a question, rather than confirmation of every feature.
Polestar 3: the larger SUV choice
The Polestar 3 offers a larger SUV body if you want more presence and a higher driving position than the 2. Long Range Single Motor and Dual Motor versions give you different layouts to compare, while pack combinations affect the equipment.
Start with the space: rear passengers, your usual luggage and the width of your parking place. Then consider whether additional performance is useful to you. Battery, charging and computing hardware can change with model updates, so a newer demonstration should not be treated as the specification of every used 3.
Polestar 4: try the camera-based rear view
The original Polestar 4 coupé-shaped SUV has no rear window. Its mirror display shows a live image from a roof-mounted rear camera, as Polestar’s 2024 introduction explains. That is a distinctive part of living with the car, so take time to see whether the display feels comfortable to you.
Single Motor and Dual Motor versions are separate powertrain choices. Compare rear accommodation, loading access and the camera view before focusing on performance. The advice here concerns the original coupé-shaped model; a later body sharing the Polestar 4 name needs its own comparison.
Choose the equipment you will use
Polestar’s central-screen approach makes the actual software, connected services and phone integration worth checking. Ask which Pilot, Plus, Pro or Performance equipment is fitted, rather than transferring pack contents from a different model. Confirm any subscription-dependent service and the charging cables included with the car.
Equipment and charging specifications can change during production. Confirm the manufacturer’s specification, fitted options, cables and any connected-service subscriptions for the actual car before ordering; registration year and trim name alone do not tell the whole story.

What comes with my Polestar lease?
Second Life Leasing’s full maintenance package brings the routine upkeep into your lease, helping you plan for more than the rental alone.
Servicing, maintenance and premium replacement tyres
Servicing, maintenance, replacement tyres and MOT when required are included. Replacement tyres are premium brands, with mobile fitting where possible. Collection and return for servicing and maintenance are included, subject to limitations.
Breakdown cover and road fund tax
Breakdown cover includes a replacement vehicle for up to 48 hours if needed, plus cover for driving abroad. Check the overseas arrangements with Lex before travelling. Road fund tax is included for the duration of your lease.
Online support
The Lex Vehicle Leasing app gives you a way to book servicing, request support and find your contract documents. Use the lease company’s support route for your maintained agreement.
What do I pay for separately?
Allow for insurance and fuel or charging. Your quote and agreement also explain applicable fees and contract charges, including excess mileage and damage charges. Included maintenance helps with budgeting without making every motoring cost fixed.
What happens if my Polestar develops a fault?
Contact Lex Autolease through its support process. Under Second Life Leasing’s full maintenance offering, Lex arranges covered repairs in line with your agreement, so you have a clear route to getting help.
Does the manufacturer’s warranty matter?
Where a manufacturer’s warranty applies, Lex handles the claim behind the scenes. Your repair support follows the maintained lease agreement; you do not need to work out the remaining manufacturer’s warranty before reporting a problem.
What about an electric Polestar’s battery?
Our pre-leased battery-electric Polestar cars come with a guaranteed minimum battery condition of 85% at delivery. That is a delivery baseline, rather than a guarantee throughout the lease or a promise of a particular driving range.
Can I choose the term and mileage?
Yes. Each car’s listing shows its available contract terms, annual mileage allowances and payment profiles. Choose mileage around your normal year, including commuting, business journeys and holidays.
The payment profile determines how much you pay initially and in subsequent rentals. Choose a term you are comfortable committing to, and review the agreement’s provisions and charges for changing or ending it early.
Personal or business leasing?
You can apply for Personal Contract Hire in your own name or Business Contract Hire for your business. The live examples in this guide are personal rentals including VAT, even if you are browsing in Business mode. Why choose a pre-leased Polestar?
More of the car you want within your budget
Polestar gives you three distinct ways into electric driving: the lower 2 fastback, the larger 3 SUV and the original 4 with its unusual camera-based rear view. A pre-leased Polestar has already been through its initial depreciation. Leasing it at its used value can mean a lower rental than leasing new, with the individual quote showing what that means for your chosen car. You can put the rental alongside your other regular costs and decide whether the whole package works for you.
Giving an electric Polestar another lease of life
Choosing a pre-leased battery-electric Polestar keeps an existing car and its battery in use. Battery-electric Polestar cars produce no tailpipe emissions while driving. Manufacturing and charging electricity still contribute to their overall footprint.
UK government guidance explains that a typical electric car has lower lifetime greenhouse-gas emissions than an equivalent petrol car, including battery production and disposal. That is general EV evidence, rather than a measured saving for an individual used Polestar.
A scheduled return without finding a buyer
At the agreed end, return the Polestar subject to the mileage and condition terms. Lex owns and resells it and takes the resale-value risk. You can choose your next car without arranging a private sale or negotiating a part-exchange.
